Dunfermline man jailed for art theft
A DUNFERMLINE man, given early release from a prison sentence, is back inside after being caught stealing a picture from a shop.
Ian Porterfield, 37, of the James Bank Hostel, admitted that on January 20, he stole the picture from Ideal Canvas in the Kingsgate Centre.
Sheriff Craig McSherry told Porterfield: “You’ve got an enormous record for crimes of dishonesty.”
He sent him back to jail to serve the remaining 80 days of his previous sentence. He will then serve another six-month term for this latest offence.
