IN the last few minutes, the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service have confirmed that a bus fire in Dunfermline's Pilmuir Street has been extinguished.
They have also confirmed to the Press that everyone on board the vehicle has been accounted for.
Reports from eyewitnesses said the bus was a school service, and was on fire close to Queen Anne High School, with Pilmuir Street described as "a no-go area" by one witness.
Although the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service could not confirm whether the bus was a school service, they said that they received a call at 15.57 to the Broomhead Park area, where a double decker bus was "well alight".
Four breathing apparatus and two hose reel jets were used to bring the fire under control, which was extinguished at around 4.30pm.
They said that everyone had been accounted for and were in the process of damping down the affected area.
