A West Fife village is set to feature in the BBC's 'Villages by the Sea' next month.
Famous for its role as a filming location in the hit TV show, 'Outlander', the village itself was a major centre for Scottish coal mining and had the first undersea coal shaft in the world.
Now, its gorgeous architecture and rich history will be explored by archaeologist Ben Robinson and his team.
The BBC team said that the West Fife village is "a stunning example of a 17th century Scottish Royal Burgh village".
They continued: "This village is like stepping back in time 400 years and many of the interesting details and decorations of the buildings remain.
"It is also a place where witch hunting was rife, and superstitions lived alongside innovative industry."
Other villages featuring in the series include Johnshaven, Greyabbey, Porthgain, Seaton Sluice, Beer, Solva, Holkham, Cushendall and Port Carlisle.
Culross will be featured in the first episode of the new season, set to air on Thursday, November 2, at 7 pm on BBC Two.
