WEST Fifers are being invited to help pave the way for the repair of the historic Limekilns Pier.
A fundraising initiative to see the restoration of the eroded pier has been ongoing for several years.
Now, the public are being offered the chance to pay a donation which will see a stone engraved on the path on the pier with a message of their choice.
Over £50,000 has already raised for the Beacon Way project with the popular Limekilns New Year's Breakfast dip being held in recent years for the cause.

The event is unable to take place this year because of predicted high tide times but people can still help.
Limekilns Heritage Trust chairman Russell Kelly said they have been working for a number of years to raise funds to repair the pier for the benefit of the community.
"In May 2022 we launched our Beacon Way fundraising project, whereby donations of over £100 toward our pier restoration fund are acknowledged with an engraved stone forming part of a new permanent pathway on the pier itself," he explained.
"Inscriptions so far have varied widely, from a simple statement of donor’s name to memorials to people or pets, memories of events linked to the pier, affiliation to local societies or other memento of a connection with Limekilns and Charlestown.
"Commercial and other organisations have also been keen to record their support. Some inscriptions include logos, emblems or sketches."
The first section of paving stones have already been laid however stones are still available.
"The current funds raised now total over £50,000 when gift aid is applied," added Russell. "This is halfway to our goal of £100,000 which will enable us to repair the south-west corner of the pier.
"The second delivery of engraved stones arrived this week and we hope to begin laying them soon.
"The third phase of the fundraising project can now be publicised to catch the attention of folk who have so far not made up their minds as to how they can help save Limekilns Pier and at the same time record for posterity their family connection with the community.
"What could be better than a permanent reminder of their history with a Christmas present set in stone?"
