A DUNFERMLINE Slimming World consultant is hoping to do her bit to help West Fifers on their weight loss journey after a new study revealed over half of UK adults can fall after just one slimming hurdle.

The survey, which was published by Slimming World this week, revealed that 77 per cent of adults say they’ve previously attempted to lose weight.

On average, they have tried to lose weight seven times in their lifetime.

Samantha said she had tried various weight loss plans around five times before she discovered Slimming World.

"Of those who had experienced a setback while trying to lose weight, 38 percent say the top cause was feeling hungry and 29 per cent say it was a stressful life event such as a bereavement, job loss or family illness," she said.

"For others, it was missing out on their favourite foods (25 per cent), and not planning healthy meals (23 per cent) which derailed them.

“I remember feeling that everywhere I turned there was a wall stopping me getting to my weight loss dream, especially at this time of year – chocolate was a major trigger for me and the sense of failing then led to the “Oh well” feeling and spiralling out of control.

"The Slimming World plan helps members prepare for these tougher times and overcome them."

Samantha runs her Slimming World classes from the City Hotel on Thursdays and St Margarets in Touch on Fridays.
