TESCO Duloch put a smile on children's’ faces after handing over a cheque for £1785 to Kids Come First.
The club, based at the Benarty Centre in Ballingry, is one of the longest-running voluntary after school clubs in Fife and offers affordable, quality childcare for the surrounding area, encouraging children to develop through learning and play in a secure environment.
Thanks to the team at Tesco Duloch, who selected Kids Come First to benefit from the funds from Tesco’s head office, the club will now enjoy the extra money. Store manager Paul Gallagher and customer service manager Lewis Smith-Campbell were there to help hand over the cheque and community champion Mandy Raine told the Press about the good it will do.
“The money will help them go on trips, do things like horse riding, and buy equipment for the club,” she said. “It’s also going towards things like buying fruit and healthy snacks to eat. When I spoke to the children, a lot of them said they never got the chance to do these sort of things. This is why Tesco wanted to give them the money, so they could have the chance to do things like that.
“It’s giving to a good cause and the kids were so excited when they saw the cheque. It was lovely to see all their faces light up talking about what they could do!”
