A POLICE investigation has been launched after anti-Muslim stickers were put up in Dunfermline.
A small number were reported to have been posted in the Kirkgate, High Street and Douglas Street areas of the town on Sunday.
The stickers, believed to have been removed by members of the public, are said to have featured anti-Muslim sentiments.
Sergeant Ross Crawford of Dunfermline Police Station said: "No one should be be made to feel unwelcome or targeted in their own community.
"Dunfermline is a welcoming place and together we will ensure it remains that way.
"As we continue to work to establish the full circumstances surrounding these stickers, I would ask anyone who may have relevant information to get in touch."
Anyone with information is urged to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 2808 of Sunday, March 17.
They can report this anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
