A CLUSTER of coronavirus cases has been confirmed at a nursery in Dunfermline.
NHS Fife has announced this afternoon that a total of six people linked to Pitreavie Kindergarten, on Queensferry Road, have tested positive for COVID-19.
A "number of staff" have been asked to self-isolate as a precaution, leading to the nursery closing for a "short period".
A statement from the health board said: "NHS Fife can confirm a cluster of COVID-19 cases linked to Pitreavie Kindergarten in Dunfermline.
"A total of six people linked to the nursery have tested positive for COVID-19. NHS Fife’s Health Protection Team is working alongside Fife Council’s Environmental Health Service to support the nursery and help to reduce the risk of further transmission.
"The facility will close for a short period after a number of staff were asked to self-isolate as a precaution.
"Anyone experiencing the well-established symptoms of COVID-19, regardless of how mild, should immediately self-isolate and arrange a test using the NHS inform website www.nhsinform.scot or by calling 0800 028 2816.
