Wetherspoons have announced plans to open sixty pubs in Scotland next month when lockdown restrictions are eased.
Nicola Sturgeon outlined on Tuesday the country’s new route map out of lockdown, which will see pubs and restaurants back open from April 26.
Under the rules, indoor premises can only remain open until 8pm and are not allowed to serve alcohol. This is hopefully set to change from May 17, when indoor hospitality can remain open and service alcohol until 10.30pm.
If punters want to enjoy alcohol, they are allowed to do so from April 26 in a beer garden, with a curfew of 10pm.
Wetherspoon's regional manager for Scotland, Helen Dumbreck, said: “We are looking forward to welcoming both customers and staff back to our pubs.
“Our pubs play an important part in the social life of their respective towns and cities and it is great news that they will be able to reopen soon.
“Each of our pubs will observe all the necessary safety rules around Covid-19.”
