WEST FIFE was hit by more youth disorder last weekend according to local police officers.

A post on South West Fife Police's Twitter feed on Saturday said there had been "a ridiculous amount of youth disorder and anti-social behaviour calls" across the area which they, along with Dunfermline and Cowdenbeath police teams, had been dealing with.

They added: "Parents/guardians, if your children are out then get them home please."

The post followed one the previous weekend after several calls to The Woodlands in Rosyth where large groups of youths had been causing issues.

It said: "Another addition to the ever-growing list of places to check. Parents/guardians, we can’t be everywhere at once. #WhereIsYourChild?"

Last week, the Press reported that litter, vomit and excrement had been left at the historic 12th-century St Bridget's Kirk near Dalgety Bay while damage had also occurred at Aberdour Castle after an "escalation" in anti-social behaviour at both sites.

Police Scotland said this week that they were working to address the increasing number of incidents.

Chief Inspector Yvonne Stenhouse said: “We are aware of ongoing issues with youths engaging in anti-social behaviour which is concerning, particularly in the midst of a pandemic when people are being told to stay at home.

"Local officers are working with partners to address these issues and proactively stop this activity.

“I would urge anyone with information or concerns regarding anti-social behaviour to contact Police Scotland through 101 or speak to officers out on patrol. Alternatively, you can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
