A Dunfermline man has admitted abusive behaviour towards his wife over a period of almost a year.
Peter O’Sullivan, 34, of Blair Drive, appeared for sentencing at Dunfermline Sheriff Court.
He admitted previously that between April 27, 2019, and April 15, 2020, at the Lauriston Hotel, Ardrossan, and at Moncur Street, Townhill, he engaged in an abusive course of behaviour towards his then partner.
He threatened to jump from the roof of a building if she did not return and talk to him, accused her repeatedly of being unfaithful in their marriage and demanded that she took her children shopping with her to ensure she was not meeting other men.
Depute fiscal Laura McManus said that the couple had been in a relationship since 2014 and were married in 2016.
In April 2019, they had gone to a hotel in Ardrossan for a short break and after both had been consuming alcohol, an argument broke out, the court was told.
O’Sullivan had then climbed onto the roof and threatened to jump, said the depute.
Ms McManus said O’Sullivan had a “jealous” nature and was always accusing his partner of being unfaithful.
On one occasion,he demanded to see her phone. His partner agreed but took his phone and asked questions about some things she saw on there, the court heard.
This led to a struggle between them as he tried to retrieve his phone and he was asked to leave the house.
Sheriff Pino di Emidio deferred sentence until July 21 for O’Sullivan to be of good behaviour. A decision on whether to impose a non-harassment order will also be made then.
