SHIRLEY-ANNE Somerville has been re-elected to represent Dunfermline after success in the 2021 Scottish Parliamentary election.
Following the count at the Michael Woods Sports Centre today (Saturday), the SNP candidate was declared winner with a majority of 8,664 after securing a total of 20,048 votes.
Labour's Julie MacDougall came in second place with 11,384 votes.
Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party's Roz McCall received 6,314 votes and Scottish Liberal Democrats candidate Aude Boubaker-Calder had 3,196 votes.
The turn out for the constituency was 63.3 per cent.
Lib Dem candidate Aude Boubaker-Calder was not present at the count as she was due to be getting her labour induced for the arrival of her first child.
In a statement on Friday, she explained: "I was hoping to be able to be present during the results on Saturday but our little bundle of joy has decided otherwise and I will need to be induced this weekend as I am reaching the 42 weeks milestone."
