A DUNFERMLINE chippy is giving a mini Colin the Caterpillar cake the deep fried treatment.
Hook & Catch x Tuck Shakk at Duloch Park has a new culinary treat on the menu with the latest addition leaving locals longing for a bite.
For just £2.50, you can acquire the tasty treat that has been thrown in the deep fryer and drizzled with a chocolate sauce.
Declan Doran, owner of the business on Turnstone Road, told the Press that the ongoing legal tussle between Marks & Spencer and Aldi inspired the idea.
"We thought we'd make a tongue-and-cheek joke of the 'rift' between M&S and Aldi," he said.
"The cake is a bit like Marmite; some people love it and others hate it.
"The feedback so far has been pretty mixed, but I think it's not too bad at all - it's pretty sweet!
"We've had a lot of people on Facebook and Instagram say they want to try it and others who aren't so keen."
Marks & Spencer recently launched legal action against Aldi to protect its Colin the Caterpillar cake, claiming that its rival's Cuthbert the Caterpillar infringes its trademark.
German chain Aldi stopped selling the cake back in February, two months before it was accused of infringing the Colin the Caterpillar trademark.
Aldi then announced in April that it would be introducing a limited edition Cuthbert the Caterpillar cake this month with sales benefitting Teenage Cancer Trust and Macmillan Cancer Support.
