NEARLY 3,500 more booking slots are being made available across Fife's recycling centres.
Fife Council has now also opened its Dalgety Bay site for an extra day, meaning the centre will be open six days a week.
Providing an update to the Press, service manager Simon Young said: "As we continue to review plans for our recycling centres, whilst making sure they are consistent with the latest COVID guidelines from the Scottish Government, we're now able to safely increase the number of booking slots by approximately 25 per cent – that’s roughly 3,462 extra slots per week for households.
“In addition to this, our research has shown that there is a higher demand at our Dalgety Bay recycling centre so as well as increasing the number of slots here, we’re also opening the centre six days a week instead of five.
“As social-distancing restrictions are eased further, we'll continue to look at how our sites are being used, and add spaces where we can, safely, until we reach the maximum capacity."
The changes took effect from Monday this week.
