A VOLUNTEER in Dunfermline has been the heart and soul of a charity shop for 25 years.
Sandra Collier has devoted her time to the British Heart Foundation (BHF) for more than two decades.
She was recently recognised on her 80th birthday, for that amazing feat.
Sandra started volunteering with the charity in 1996 and signed up as a volunteer after a friend suggested it.
She had a meeting on the Tuesday and started working on the Thursday and has never looked back.
Sandra currently works in both the BHF furniture and electrical store on Queen Anne Street as well as the High Street shop.
Her 25th anniversary comes as the BHF marked National Volunteer Week (June 1-7) and Sandra was honoured with a certificate and a commemorative badge.
Jim Leishman, Fife Provost, also stopped by a for a chat and to offer his congratulations.
Shirley Stenhouse, BHF Scotland area manager, paid tribute to Sandra, stating: "Sandra is an inspiration to us and much-loved by all the team and our customers.
"She has done so much to support the BHF in the 25 years since she joined us and brings a smile to everyone who works and comes into our shops in Dunfermline.
"We are so grateful to her and to all our volunteers.
"Their gift of time is vital to the BHF and they are at the heart of everything we do to help those living with heart and circulatory diseases in Scotland.
"We’d like to wish Sandra congratulations on 25 years with us and for her recent 80th birthday – and thank her for continued support.”
