ROSYTH FC say they are waiting “in anticipation” for the completion of discussions which could finally see them move into a new home.
The club have been homeless since they moved out of Recreation Park in April 2018 after Fife Council agreed to sell the land for a Lidl supermarket.
As part of the deal, the developer was to provide a replacement pitch and facilities, which was to be at the Fleet Grounds.
However, neither supermarket nor pitch have been delivered and, in the meantime, the council identified the Fleet Grounds as the site for the new Inverkeithing High School.
In April, the Press reported that proposals were in the pipeline for the creation of a a new home for Rosyth FC and a training facility for Dunfermline Athletic at the former Rosyth Civil Service Club.
A case backing a facility – which could eventually also become an academy base for the Pars – was submitted to the facilities’ current operators and earlier this month, Dunfermline Athletic was named as the preferred bidder to take the site over by the Civil Service Sports Council (CSSC).
It said a period of consultation would then begin and involve other concerned parties.
Russell Craig, from Rosyth FC, said they were waiting for discussions between the Pars and the Civil Service Club to be completed.
“We are still, as far as we are concerned, waiting,” he said. “Dunfermline are still in contact with the civil service people – we knew it was going to be a long drawn out process.
“We are in regular contact with the Pars.”
