The West Fife superheroes have done it again after raising £7,000 for the Edinburgh Kids Children’s Hospital Charity by throwing themselves out of a plane!
Duloch Spiderman alongside Dunfermline Wolverine, Captain America Duloch and Dalgety Bay’s Superman, plus friends Stuart Watson and Mathew Fox, took part in a skydive on Sunday afternoon.
The superheroes were in full costume to take on the adrenaline rush at St Andrew’s Dive Centre in Glenrothes.
Dave Roper, aka Duloch Spiderman, told the Press: “It was wicked!
"I did a skydive about eight years ago so I had an idea what it was like.
“But when you go up in the plane and they open the doors it’s still quite nerve wrecking.
“It’s a magical experience though, free falling, and I would recommend to anyone to do it!”
Dave first started building up this round of fundraising by taking on a running challenge in March which involved him running four miles every four hours over a 96 hours period.
He raised several thousand pounds for that and then asked some of the other superheroes to join him to top up the funds with a skydive.
“We were able to give a cheque presentation on Sunday,” Dave added.
“Overall £13,000 was raised for the Sick Kids hospital as others were also there at the skydive for them and so we’re really pleased that our group was able to raise quite a bit of that total.
“Others from the superhero team such as Wonder Woman came to support us from the sidelines so it was great to see them too.”
Dave has raised a phenomenal amount of money for good causes and was tricked into appearing on the BBC's One Show in February to receive One Big Thank You from presenter Alex Jones and a list of celebrities for his fundraising efforts, with more than £71,000 raised for Calaiswood School.
The dad-of-two was nominated by local man George Eggo and thought he had been invited to the school to film a ‘Fife Council’ video to promote World Book Day.
