A 41-YEAR-OLD woman who stole from cars in Dunfermline after drinking and taking drugs has been jailed.
Rachel Stewart appeared at Dunfermline Sheriff Court by video link from prison to be sentenced for a series of thefts.
She admitted that on July 26, at Broomhead Drive, she entered an unsecured vehicle and stole a tyre compresser, a box of bubblewrap, clothing, a pair of scissors and two screwdrivers.
On the same day at Golfdrum Street, she entered an insecure vehicle and stole clothing, a radio and a pair of sunglasses.
She also admitted that on June 25, at Myrtle Wynd, Dunfermline, she entered an unsecured vehicle and stole a duster, paper, sweets, a keyring and air fresheners.
On the same day, she was found in another vehicle in Myrtle Wynd with intent to steal.
Defence solicitor Kevin Connor said his client had taken alcohol and drugs before the offences. “She has no clear memory of what happened and there was no real point in what she was doing,” he added.
Sheriff James Macdonald, who described Stewart as a “prolific offender”, jailed her for 260 days.
