A MILESTONE moment in the history of the Abbey Church of Dunfermline will be celebrated on September 30 when the building is rededicated to mark the bicentenary of the current church.
The Moderator of the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland, Lord Jim Wallace of Tankerness, will lead the occasion at a special service exactly 200 years to the day since the current church building opened for worship – although the Abbey site has offered a Christian presence for nearly 950 years.
Tickets for the service are available from the Church Office on 723005 or by email at Dunfermline.abbey.church@gmail.com
As long as numbers remain within the limit allowed in the church under COVID restrictions, anyone can come but you will need a ticket but they are not being sold.
