A WEST FIFE sporting venue are offering their support to Ukraine by sending one of their track vehicles to the war-torn country.
Knockhill Racing Circuit, north of Dunfermline, have donated one of their circuit ambulances.
The idea came from operations manager, Alan Brunton, who has been volunteering to assist with aid work by Morris Leslie Vehicle Auctions, based in Errol, Perthshire, and ‘Tayside and Strathearn help for Ukraine’.
Stuart Gray, director of events at Knockhill, explained: “It came about after we were looking to replace one of our track ambulances.
“Alan had been helping out Morris Leslie, organising at their depot, which is collecting emergency aid.
"We had done a lot with them over the years, and we thought rather than trading it in, can it be put to better use? It’s nice to be able to help out in a small way. It is definitely going to the best place.”
The ambulance was dropped off at the beginning of last week and was set to be lorry driven to Poland, from where it will then be taken to Luhansk Oblast in eastern Ukraine.
