Over 300 routes to a degree are available at Fife College
Fife College now offers over 300 defined routes to degree courses, allowing local students to start their degree journey closer to home.
Many people still believe studying towards a degree means setting off to university, but those looking to start their degree studies can do just that right here in Fife, by studying an HNC (equivalent to first year of a university degree); an HND (the equivalent of a second year at university); then completing a full degree, either via one of our partnership agreements with universities right across the country or directly through Fife College.
Flexible and affordable
With the ongoing cost of living crisis, studying for a degree locally can be a great way for students to cut down on ever-increasing travel or accommodation expenses that might be incurred if they were to study elsewhere.
Taking one of these routes to a degree is not only more affordable, but it’s also more flexible, with students able to take studies one year at a time gaining recognised qualifications for every year of study, rather than making a four-year commitment from the outset.
With full-time, part-time, online and weekend/evening study options all available, starting a degree at college is perfect for those looking to learn around other commitments too.
Degree on your doorstep
With 300 routes on offer, thanks to the College’s partnerships with 18 higher education institutions across Scotland and beyond, there are lots of options for students to progress directly to the second or third year of a university course.
The College’s franchise partnerships with Abertay University, Queen Margaret University and The Open University, also offer opportunities for those looking to study their full degree at Fife College, which is also a great route for students already familiar with the College set-up.
Pupils at high school in Fife can also get a head start on their degree pathway while still in school, with options to study HNCs through one of the School College Partnerships programmes.
Range of subjects
When it comes to subjects, Fife College offers degree study options in a range of areas, from Social Sciences to Creative Enterprise, and Childcare to Accounting and Finance.
Take the Built Environment and Construction sector, for example. The College currently offers industry approved HNC and HND courses in Architectural Technology, Interior Design, Building and Quantity Surveying.
Each of these courses provides a solid foundation for progression pathways to a degree and offers the flexibility to take things one year at a time while still gaining qualifications for each year of study.
First-class facilities
As well as a wide range of subjects to choose from, the College offers degree students access to first-class facilities, including a dedicated University Hub, expert teaching, and strong links to local businesses.
With top facilities, greater affordability and flexibility, many people are already discovering why college is the perfect place to start their journey towards a degree.
