WORK is set to restart this year on a performing arts centre and cinema in Dunfermline.
The Alhambra Theatre has plans for the facility in the former Watt and Dewar building on New Row and confirmed this week that the Ironmonger Studio project is set to progress after halting because of Covid.
A spokesperson said: "Following the impact of the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, activity was halted. We have since then been home to the Ukraine appeal donations centre.
"Works are scheduled to recommence this year."
The west and central planning committee approved a change of use for the old Watt & Dewar premises on New Row in August last year.
This is set to see the long-empty building in Dunfermline into a studio theatre and cinema with a cafe and bar area.
In March, the studio space was donated by The Alhambra to the We Stand With Ukraine charity for use as a drop-off point.
Donations were then sorted at the venue before being sent to refugees crossing the border into Poland.
