WORK has began on a new housing development near Rosyth with eco-friendly features.
Perfect for those looking to earn a bit of good karma when they buy their new house, eight new properties will be built in the Pattiesmuir hamlet featuring climate-friendly elements such as solar panels and car-chargers.
Carol Williams, from Premier Homes Scotland, said: "We bought the land a year ago so we have just started the work now. We are delighted to be starting.
"It's lovely down there! The development is called Poppyfield at Pattiesmuir and there's eight properties altogether. There's two five-bed properties and six four-bed properties. We're just getting started and it's very exciting for us."
Premier Homes completed four new homes on Townhill Road at the former Hillpark House site last year.
The properties will be fitted with high-grade specifications and measures to make the houses better for the environment.
Carol continued: "We're putting in more eco-friendly homes, with air source heat pumps, underfloor heating on the ground floor, solar panels and EV car-chargers. We did that before but we have gone one step further with the air source heat pump.
"It is really fitting that in a rural, little hamlet like Pattiesmuir that we are keeping in touch with eco-friendly property."
As well as the green measures, the homes will be equipped with bi-fold doors, German kitchens, high-spec bathrooms, USB charging sockets, coving throughout, fitted wardrobes and generous storage.
The first phase, consisting of two houses, is set to finish early next year.
