WEST FIFE Commonwealth Games star Eve Pearson is in line to represent her country once more in a EuroHockey qualifier.
The 20-year-old, who is a former Dunfermline Carnegie Hockey Club player, has been named in the Scotland squad that will take part at Women's EuroHockey Qualifier D, in Dunkirk, France, this week.
Beginning yesterday (Wednesday), and running until Saturday, the Scots will take on France, Austria and Switzerland, with a place at the top table of European hockey at stake for the team that finishes at the tournament's summit.
Eve and her 'Tartan Hearts' team-mates, who finished sixth at the Commonwealth Games, opened their fixtures against Austria, earning a 4-0 victory.
University of Edinburgh player Eve, who won her first Scotland caps in Birmingham, will be seeking to face France today (Thursday) before the Scots end their campaign against the Swiss on Saturday.
The winner of the section will go on to qualify for next year's EuroHockey Championships and Scotland head coach Chris Duncan said: "It’s going to be a tough tournament, and a big challenge, but playing in Birmingham against Australia, New Zealand, Canada, South Africa and Kenya sets a great standard for this tournament.
"We need to bring the pace and quality of the Commonwealth Games to Dunkirk, and maintaining that standard can make us very difficult to come up against."
Eve, who is a former pupil at Commercial Primary School, played in each of Scotland's matches in Birmingham, which brought two victories, against South Africa (4-2), and Kenya (11-0).
