A BUSY year of action at Knockhill Racing Circuit is accelerating towards its conclusion – but not before its final competitive event of 2022.
This Sunday, Scotland's national home of motorsport will host the 2022 BTRDA Clubman Rallycross Championship, a speed event that will take place on a permanent track of both sealed and unsealed surfaces.
Referred to as the 'wild child' of motorsport, rallycross is the offspring of a liaison between circuit racing and rallying, where the use of kerbs and grass, and going sideways are allowed, with fun at the top of its agenda.
The BTRDA Clubman Rallycross Championship is the main competition for the series within the UK, and was established in 1977.
It continues to be successful, providing both newcomers and 'budget' racers with a strong series of events at the best UK venues, allowing them to showcase their skills over short and fast six-lap races over a mixture of tarmac and gravel surfaces.
The frantic, door-to-door action is guaranteed to provide crowds with a thrilling climax to the competitive season at Knockhill, which, during 2022, has hosted the Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship for a 30th year; the Bennetts British Superbike Championship; and the McRae Rally Challenge.
With the title up for grabs, the battles on track will intensify throughout the day - and you could be there thanks to Press Sport.
We've teamed-up with our friends at Knockhill Racing Circuit to offer two pairs of tickets for Sunday's event.
For your chance to win, simply tell us: How many years has Knockhill hosted the British Touring Car Championship?
Email your answer, together with your name and a contact number, titled 'Knockhill competition', to sport@dunfermlinepress.com, by 3pm tomorrow (Friday).
Two correct entries will be chosen, at random, to receive tickets for the event.
Following the Clubman Rallycross Championships, Knockhill will bring the curtain down on a successful year on November 5 with its annual live action and fireworks spectacular, offering motorsport, entertainment and spectacular fireworks display for all the family to enjoy.
Keep your eyes peeled on next week's Press for an opportunity to be there in another fantastic competition.
