A MAN was knocked unconscious when violence broke out at the door of a Dunfermline nightclub.
The assailant was 25-year-old Gavin Fletcher, of Wedderburn Crescent, Dunfermline, who has now been put on a ‘tag’.
He appeared at Dunfermline Sheriff Court and admitted that on March 13 at Life nightclub, Kirkgate, he assaulted a man by punching him on the head to his injury.
Depute fiscal Lauren Pennycook said Fletcher and others were attempting to get into the nightclub but were told they were barred.
He continued trying to get in and was refusing to move away despite being told they were not being allowed in.
The venue’s owner contacted the police. Fletcher then punched a man to the head causing him to fall and lose consciousness.
The victim was taken to Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy to be treated for concussion.
Fletcher is already on a community payback order for another offence with unpaid work.
Sheriff William Gilchrist told Fletcher: “You’re building up a bit of a record.”
He imposed an 11-week restriction of liberty order and a compensation order of £300.
