KELTY HEARTS boss John Potter believes there's things to be pleased with in his side's recent performances but says they need to add more points.

After three wins on the spin, the New Central Park outfit have picked up just one point from their last trio of matches, and conceded two goals in the 90th minute to lose at home to Montrose on Saturday.

Potter takes his charges to Airdrieonians, who they defeated on home turf last month, this Saturday and said: "I think for a wee while we've actually been playing quite well but I don't think we've won in three now.

"We lost to Dunfermline, should have got something; drew with Alloa, potentially could've sneaked a win; and we should've taken something from today (against Montrose).

"But you can only do that for so long. You've got to pick something up from these games, especially when you're playing well, and hopefully we can do that next week.

"When you sit back and look at it, there's aspects of the performance that was good. There's things that we can be better at, but we have to keep doing what we're doing, and hopefully have a few boys back fit for next week.

"We had four out today, five potentially; Scotty McGill was on the bench but wasn't feeling well. Hopefully, we can have that and then we can have a stronger squad."

When it was put to him that it looked like Kelty were the likelier winners in the second half, Potter continued: "I agree, I thought we did. We had good areas, good opportunities. We looked a threat going forward but we didn't get that second goal, which changes things a little bit.

"You give away that first goal so early in the game, you get one back and are doing well – we should be winning the game at that point, but we're not. Take chances but close the door the other side. If you're not going to win it, then take something from the game.

"It's hard. We're playing against good players, good clubs, playing against a team that's been in the top four of this league for two or three years now, and have got a good squad.

"But, as I said, today, and from speaking to their manager as well, he said that he thought we were better than them today, but they're away with the three points."

Potter, who was without Michael Tidser, Tam O'Ware, Nicky Low and Nathan Austin on Saturday, hopes to have good news on the injury front this week before their clash with the Diamonds, adding: "Airdrie are a good team, a good footballing team. It's a difficult game but one that we need to go there and play as we have been playing, be a wee bit more clinical in front of goal, and shut up shop when we need to."
