A POLICE air unit helped find a man who had gone missing in Dunfermline.
Crew of the helicopter spotted the 65 year-old man in an overgrown area hours after he had been reported missing at around 4.45pm.
They posted a thermal image photo on social media of him being located and confirmed he had been taken home after being found safe and well.
Police Scotland Air Unit tweeted: "Police helicopter assisted @FifePolice at Dunfermline last night in the search for a vulnerable missing person.
"Aircrew spotted the male in a densely overgrown area near his home. Police on the ground directed to him where he was found safe and well and taken home."
Fife Police confirmed later that the man had been traced safe and well.
"Thank you to everyone who shared and responded to our appeal," they added.
