A FLUTE and classical guitar pairing will bring the works of Robert Burns to life in Dunfermline.
JKL Duo, composed of Kerry Lynch and Jacopo Lazzaretti, have imagined what the national poet of Scotland would have created had he been alive today, giving an international twist to traditional tunes.
They will bring the show, 'The International Poet', to Viewfield Baptist Church thanks to the Scotland On Tour initiative, which involves performances from more than 120 artists at around 100 venues across the country.
It includes tracks such as 'Auld Lang Syne Samba' and a reimagined 'Ae Fond Kiss' and 'My Love is Like a Red Red Rose'.
Jacopo and Kerry said of the scheme: "It’s a great opportunity to play some venues we might not otherwise get to visit and we can’t wait to make some memories with the people of Dunfermline playing our 'The International Poet' album."
John Simpson, of promoters Dunfermlinemusic.org, added: "We’re thrilled to be welcoming Kerry and Jacopo to Dunfermline and proud to be working with Scotland on Tour and our friends at Viewfield Baptist Church to present quality live music to local audiences."
The project, which will run until April 2023, has been created and managed by Active Events and was made possible by £750,000 of Scottish Government backing to support the recovery of the live music industry.
The concert takes place at 7.30pm on Sunday, December 11, at Viewfield Baptist Church in East Port, Dunfermline. Tickets (£14/£2) and further information are available at dunfermlinemusic.org or you can pay at the door.
