A FESTIVE thank you has been given to a group of St Columba's High pupils after they raised more than £3,000 for a Dunfermline-based charity this year.

The Children's Clothing Bank expressed its gratitude to Sophie Love, Ava Holland, Nicola Dubas, Emily Angel and Erin Fitzgerald for their "phenomenal efforts" to help.

The girls raised £2,750 initially through the Youth Philanthropy Initiative before boosting their total by £810 through a 5K fundraising run from the Children's Clothes Bank premises in Chalmers street to their high school.

Posting on Facebook, the charity stated: "We just had to recognise the phenomenal efforts of St Columba’s pupils Sophie, Emily, Ava, Erin and Nicola, who have worked with us for over a year now and raised well over £3,000 on our behalf.

"We have been constantly impressed by their commitment and tenacity. From their ability to represent our charity by providing a presentation on our work, to organising a fundraising 5k run (in the rain) to helping out at our recent fundraising evening.

"They are an absolute credit to their school and the Dunfermline community."
