KELTY HEARTS have agreed a deal to extend Nicky Low's loan from Arbroath until the end of the season.
Ahead of the transfer window closing on Tuesday evening, an agreement was reached between the clubs to allow the 31-year-old to remain with the League One side.
Former Aberdeen and Dundee midfielder Low made the move from Gayfield in September, initially until the end of January, and has made 12 appearances, scoring twice.
Although he has been out of action since a win at Queen of the South in December, with Potter hopeful he could be in contention for a return for this Saturday's visit of Falkirk, Low was a player the club hoped to keep, and concluded the formalities before the deadline.
In what has been a busy January at the club, forward Kyle Doherty left on a permanent deal to join league rivals Clyde; loanees Scott McGill and Cammy Logan returned to parent club, Heart of Midlothian; whilst youngster Scott Cameron joined Dundonald Bluebell on a temporary deal until the end of the season.
Tiwi Damarola, who returned immediately to Bo'ness Athletic on loan, was signed on a permanent contract and is one of three incomings, alongside Aberdeen defender Jack Milne, and Cove Rangers wide man Robbie Leitch.
The latter pair have both signed on loan until the end of the season, and made their league debuts in Saturday's draw at Montrose.
Leitch, 25, has made 11 appearances for Championship Cove this season, having helped them win League One last term, and has also turned out for Motherwell, Burnley, Falkirk, St Mirren, Queen's Park, and Croatian side NK Novigrad.
"He's an attacking midfielder who can play in two or three positions," Potter said of Leitch.
"He can score goals, he can create, and he has good energy. We need more options in the forward areas and he's someone we've known about and been looking at.
"He did well on Saturday. He got into the box a couple of times, and was unlucky with a couple of shots. He adds competition so we're delighted to bring him in.
"I saw him a lot last year when he was at Cove (when Potter was coaching with Queen's Park). He's hungry, he wants to get out and play games, and we hope he'll add something to our squad."
With clubs outwith the top flight able to bring in loan signings during February, Potter revealed that there may be "one or two" player movements both in and out during that timeframe.
He is currently preparing his team to welcome Falkirk to New Central Park, having already defeated the Bairns in both of their encounters this season.
Since their derby defeat at home to Dunfermline on Christmas Eve, Kelty are unbeaten in four league games, three of which have been drawn, but John McGlynn's side will arrive on the back of five straight wins in all competitions.
"They're on a really good run. They've won their last five games, and are looking to chase down Dunfermline, but it's a brilliant game for us," Potter continued.
"We've done really well against them, but, in both games, they've had spells where they've played well. They've definitely strengthened their squad; the players they've lost were maybe bit-part players, and the ones they've brought in would be starters.
"They've got good players and they'll be hurting after losing to us twice. It'll be a difficult game, but it's up to us to make sure it's a difficult game for them as well.
"Especially at home, we're confident we can take people on there, and we've beaten them there before. It's up to us to try and stamp our authority on the game as early as we can and see where it takes us."
