CHANGES to scheduled overnight works will close the A977 north of Kincardine tonight (Friday).
It is no longer necessary for the A977 Kilbagie to Gartarry to be closed on the night of Sunday, February 12. Instead, the closures will take place on the nights of Friday 10 February and Monday 13 February, to allow for the necessary road widening works to take place.
The A977 north of Kincardine will be closed in both directions on both of these nights as a part of the ongoing project to widen the northbound side of the road on the approach to Gartarry Roundabout.
From 7:30pm until 6:30am on each night, the road between Kilbagie Roundabout and Gartarry Roundabout will be closed off with a diversion route signposted via the A876, M876, M9, A91 and A907 past Stirling and Alloa, adding an estimated 20 miles and 30 minutes to affected journeys.
BEAR Scotland, Transport Scotland's operating company, began this project on October 17 and as a result lane closures and temporary traffic lights have been in place between 7:30pm and 6:30pm since then.
This project is set to conclude before the end of the month. All work is dependant on the weather and may be subject to postponement in the event of adverse weather conditions.
Motorists are encouraged to plan their journey ahead and allow for extra time for their journey, for up to date travel information visit the Traffic Scotland website.
