ATHLETIC have completed the signing of Celtic defender, Ewan Otoo, on loan until the end of the season.
The 20-year-old, who played against the Pars in an SPFL Trust Trophy tie earlier this season, completed the move this afternoon and should be available for tomorrow's trip to Airdrieonians.
Otoo becomes Dunfermline boss James McPake's first foray into the domestic loan market that is available to SPFL clubs, outwith the Premiership, for the duration of February, and comes after they didn't recruit during the January transfer window.
Otoo, who can play at centre back or on the left side of defence, signed his first professional contract with the Glasgow giants in June 2019, and has progressed to their reserve side from their under-17s, having started to play for the Hoops from the age of eight.
During the 2020/21 campaign, he made 15 appearances whilst on loan at Clyde, but will now come into the Pars squad for the remainder of the current campaign.
A Scotland under-17 cap, Otoo, who also qualifies to represent Ghana, captained Celtic's 'B' side at KDM Group East End Park in November as they lost an SPFL Trust Trophy third round tie 2-1.
His arrival comes after Sam Fisher, who spent the first half of the season on loan with Dunfermline, was recalled by parent club Dundee last month.
We will have more on Otoo's arrival in the coming days on the Press Sport website, and in next Thursday's print edition.
