A DUNFERMLINE tattoo studio has been nominated for the Scotland Business Awards for Best Tattoo Studio in Fife.

Ghost Tattoo and Piercing on Chapel Street is a fairly new shop in the city, it opened just over a year ago but is already in the running to be crowned the best place to get tattooed in the region.

Peter Smith, who tattoos in the shop alongside the talented Daz Carpenter, told the Press: "We've been in the industry for like five years plus, but I guess that fear of opening your own business is always there so to get the recognition is amazing and I've got a weird feeling of pride, I guess, I feel like it's an accomplishment."

With the cost of living crisis, many people are spending less on luxuries, including new tattoos. Peter believes that this award will help them to reach a wider customer base and give them publicity at a time that's difficult for small businesses.

Dunfermline Press:

He continued: "We always want to try and give the best experience to anyone that comes to our door, whether its a general enquiry or to have a chat. Tattooing, to a lot of people if they don't have tattoos or piercings, can be an alien thing, so if people were to vote for us, it would be nice to have that outreach.

"Tattoos are quite a niche thing for people so it would be quite nice to have a wider audience. A lot of the time, when we get new customers it tends to be friends of clients, it's very word of mouth, so I guess if people were to vote for us it would help reach out to new people and new clients."
