'Duloch Spiderman' is currently trekking his way to the Everest Basecamp in Nepal – and raising thousands of pounds for charity in the process.
Dave Roper, the man beneath the mask, set off on the tasking challenge last month and arrived in Kathmandu on Sunday, April 30.
He is now seven days into his 11-day, intense trek that will take him to an altitude of 17,600ft or 5,389m.
Dave has shared a few updates of the hike so far on the Duloch Spiderman Facebook page. After flying from Kathmandu to Lukla where they began their walk, Dave wrote: "Duloch Spiderman in Nepal – after trekking from Lukla to Phakding on Tuesday I put on my suit to surprise some kids. (And big kids!!)
"After a few minutes, a small group were looking for Spidey, and one little guy came out with HIS Spidey suit on!
"The adults in the tea house had some fun too. The kids have since recognised me (because of my shoes) and are telling me that I am Spiderman and are now play fighting."
From there the fundraising duo have their route planned to pass through Namche Bazzar, Tengboche, Dingboche and Lobuche before heading back down.
On Sunday, May 7, he wrote: "What a day!!!! We left Pheriche this morning and took an acclimatisation walk up to 4,910m (which is the height we sleep at tomorrow).
"We are both coping well with the altitude and feel good! It’s certainly tough going but the views make it worth it! What an adventure!"
Having now passed through Dingboche, Dave and his dad are now walking to Lobuche which sits at an altitude of 4,910m. They will make their way down through Gorakshep, Kalapathar, Pherichie, Namche and back to Lukla.
Speaking to the Press before leaving, Dave said: "Over the last three years, since lockdown, I've been doing the Spiderman gig. I've taken on various challenges in the last three years, and they just seem to get bigger and better and more extreme. This is just topping it off.”
The money raised from the challenge will go to the Edinburgh Children's Hospital Charity. So far, he has raised just under £6,419.

Keep up to date on their journey on the Duloch Spiderman Facebook page.
