A TOAST is in order for a Dunfermline group member who has achieved a sought-after award.
Alistair Young, of Dunfermline Toastmasters Club, gained the Distinguished Toastmaster Award last month.
In preparation he completed two paths in the Toastmasters Pathways Education Programme, Dynamic Leadership and Leadership Development.
He also had to hold a club officer role for a year, acting as President of the Dunfermline branch in 2020.
In addition, he attended club officer training and assisted the committee with preparing a Club Success Plan for that year.
To complete the award, Alistair was also required be a District Officer for a year.
In 2020 he took up the Area Director job for Area 33, in District 71, which includes four clubs, Dunfermline Toastmasters, Livingston Speakers, Stirling Speakers and Linlithgow Clubs.
Alistair then became a Club Coach in 2021 for Stirling Speakers, completed a Distinguished Toastmasters Project in 2021, and coordinated Speechcraft Sessions for Area 33 over a four week period, ending on May 24.
Alistair attends Dunfermline Toastmasters meetings fortnightly and has just been elected as Vice President Membership for the next Toastmasters, beginning July 1.
Patricia Gray, of the group, said: "On behalf of Dunfermline Toastmasters I would like to Congratulate Alistair Young on achieving this award and in doing so becoming the first member of Dunfermline Toastmasters to achieve this award."
