FAMILIES will be able to explore the world without leaving Dunfermline this summer through free fun activities.
Visitors to the city's Heritage Quarter can use the HQ Explorer PAST-PORT to take part in scavenger hunts and flag trails.
Youngsters will be able to collect stamps for completing activities and will earn a certificate while learning about Dunfermline's impact on the world.
Anyone can take part and the PAST-PORT can be used over one day, several days, or the whole of the school holiday.
The theme 'Going Global' was chosen to celebrate Dunfermline's place in the world and how other countries and cultures have influenced the ancient capital.
The HQExplorer PAST-PORT scheme has become increasingly popular over the past year with hundreds of local children and young visitors taking part.
Feedback has said the idea is "a brilliant way to get kids engaged with history" and that it "encourages us to explore locally", and "provides a memorable experience".
The activities are being offered by the Abbey Church of Dunfermline, Andrew Carnegie Birthplace Museum, Historic Environment Scotland’s Dunfermline Abbey Nave and Dunfermline Carnegie Library & Galleries.
PAST-PORTS are free and can be picked up at any of the four venues.
Visitors should remember to check each venue for opening hours which vary, and pre-booking may be required.
The activities are available from Saturday, July 1, to Sunday, August 13.
Families are invited to share photos of their PAST-PORT city celebrations on social media using the hashtags ‘#HQExplorers’ and ‘#GoingGlobal.
