SAINT Margaret was celebrated with the return of an annual pilgrimage in Dunfermline at the weekend.
Pilgrims came to the city for the event which included an ecumenical service in Dunfermline Abbey before prayers were said at the tomb of St Margaret.
This was followed by a Mass at St Margaret's RC Church on Sunday afternoon.
After the Mass, there was an opportunity to receive a blessing with a first class relic of St Margaret.
Archbishop Leo Cushley, of St Andrews & Edinburgh, said: “It was a joy to welcome people to Dunfermline for the Pilgrimage in honour of our great queen, St Margaret.
"Thanks to the Reverend Mary Ann Rennie, Minister of Dunfermline Abbey, and her parishioners for their kind welcome at the ecumenical service.
"St Margaret worked with energy and love for her family, people in Dunfermline and Scotland, and her church. She did it with great heart and with great love.
"As we venerated her memory and her relics, we prayed again for our families, our nation, our leaders, and our church. May St Margaret’s example and prayers strengthen us in God’s service today and always.”
