Dunfermline Art Club members have been able to help a member of the public trace the name of the artist of an old painting in their possession.
The picture was signed AGS, but he was keen to try to find out the rest of artist's name.
On the back of the frame was a very old sticker of the Dunfermline Fine Art Society, the precursor to the Dunfermline Art Club, so he approached the club to see if they could trace the artist.
Club Archivist Elaine Campbell sprang into action and was able to find an entry from 1883 in the archives for an Alexander Garden Sinclair for a water colour named 'Wind That Shakes the Barley'.
The member of the public was delighted the club could solve the riddle.
Earlier this year, Dunfermline Art Club celebrated its 140th anniversary.
The Art Club meets in the basement studio of Townhill Community Centre, with the main times being Tuesday evenings from 7pm to 9pm and Wednesdays from 10am to 4pm. The facilities are also available for use by members at various other times.
