POLICE SCOTLAND youth volunteers (PSYV) have raised over £700 for a Dunfermline charity by completing the 2023 Mactuff Kids challenge.

The fourteen volunteers from the Dunfermline PSYV group tackled mud, six to eight-foot walls and tunnelled through boggy rivers as part of their annual fundraising event.

Youth volunteer Casey Cameron said:  "MacTuff Kids was an unbelievable experience. As a team, we tackled each obstacle with determination, knowing that our efforts were making a positive impact.

"It was a test of our physical strength and mental grit that showed us the value of teamwork, perseverance and helping others."

Supported by six adult volunteers, they were able to complete the challenge and raise an incredible amount for their chosen charity, The Diamond Association, a volunteer-led community group which promotes social inclusion for those with learning disabilities and additional support needs.

They then presented the cheque at the Dunfermline PSYV Awards event on Tuesday, June 27 at the Carnegie Conference Centre.

The group of volunteers focused on finding a charity with similar aims and values to those of PSYV.

Volunteer James Lonie added: "The group creates an opportunity for fun and enjoyment, bringing joy and happiness to participants' lives.

"The dedicated volunteers who run the disco exhibit compassion, patience and a genuine commitment to the wellbeing and happiness of those that attend week on week."

The PSYV works closely with partners to ensure a rounded approach is taken to community work and strengthen the positive influence of volunteers.
