A DUNFERMLINE restaurant has been named as one of the best in Scotland after beating competition from across the country.
Antioch, on Bridge Street, took home the Turkish Restaurant of the Year title at the Scottish Restaurant Awards last week.
The second annual Scottish Restaurant Awards Ceremony took place at the Glasgow Marriot Hotel on July 3 with a selection of the country's most celebrated chefs, industry professionals and food enthusiasts invited to attend.
Antioch owner Nihat Oymak says he is "very proud" to bring the award "to the new city of Dunfermline".
He told the Press: "We are very proud of it, to be chosen as the best Turkish restaurant in Scotland.
"It's been three years in a row, we had big competition with almost 15 restaurants in Edinburgh, restaurants in Glasgow, in Aberdeen, Dundee and Perth.
"We managed to beat them all and we've been beating him for the last three years, since 2019.
"We had 2019, we had 2022 and 2023, in 2021 we never made it because of COVID, otherwise I would have it five years in a row.
"I am very proud and very proud to bring this to the new city of Dunfermline."
In 2022 Antioch was named Best Turkish Restaurant in Scotland at the third Scottish Asian Food Awards 2022.
It was the second time in a row that Antioch had won the award at the ceremony, which recognises a variety of Asian restaurants, takeaways and eateries across Scotland.
