FAMILIES in Fife are being invited to have fun and get fit with this year's summer reading challenge.
The theme is Ready, Set, Read and OnFife Libraries is teaming up with award-winning Robyn Drummond Fitness to bring events to venues across the Kingdom.
Tomorrow (Tuesday, July 11), there will be free half-hour family fun events at Kelty and Inverkeithing.
Further sessions will take place on July 28 and Valleyfield and Dunfermline Carnegie Library and Galleries.
Robyn is a personal trainer and helps thousands of women through her health and fitness app, RDF.
This year she received the title of Young Businesswoman of the Year and won the Entrepreneurial Award for 2023 at the Dunfermline Press and Central Fife Times Community Champion Awards.
Robyn said: “I am absolutely delighted to be an ambassador and support the OnFife Libraries Summer Reading Challenge with these fun engaging fitness classes through the summer.
"The events are free and suitable for everyone – from young children to grandparents.
"There will be amazing giveaways and prizes to be won at the events so do come along, keep active and explore your local library this summer - keeping not only the body active but the mind active too!"
No equipment is needed to take part in the events but attendees should wear something comfortable and have a water bottle to hand.
There is no limit to how many dates you can attend, though spaces are limited, and more information is available on the Summer Reading Challenge 2023 OnFife webpage.
Sabrina Maguire, Engagement Co-Ordinator for Young People and Families at OnFife, said: "The Summer Reading Challenge is a big highlight of our year and we are so happy to be working with Robyn this summer.
"There is nothing better than seeing young people and families come together to keep their minds and bodies active and have fun. We feel that Robyn’s ethos matches ours and she is such an inspiration to young people.
"We’re only two weeks into the Summer Reading Challenge this year and already have more than 2,000 Fife children signed up and we can’t wait to see some of those children at our Ready, Set, Move with Robyn! Events over the coming weeks."
Young people can register for the Summer Reading Challenge at their local library over the holidays to read six books and collect lots of rewards along the way.
There are also lots of craft events to take part in.
