Fire crews have been tackling a blaze in a derelict property in Dunfermline city centre tonight (Monday, July 17).

Emergency services were called to a fire in an empty building in Walmer Drive just before 9pm.

While firegfighters tackled the fire, police closed off East Port and New Row was closed at its junction with Canmore Street, just outside the Alhambra Theatre.

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson reported receiving a call at 8.51pm to a derelict building on fire at on Walmer Drive in Dunfermline.

The spokesperson said seven pumps were in attendance, but no further information was available at this time.
