RESTORATION work on a Dalgety Bay footbridge is set to be carried out this financial year.
Local MSP Annabelle Ewing said she has received confirmation from Network Rail that work will be taking place on the railway footbridge.
Earlier this year, she raised concerns that the structure had suffered from low-level corrosion due to the use of de-icing salts, adding that the bridge was "far from pleasing to the eye".

Speaking this week, Ms Ewing welcomed the latest update.
“Back in May, I received assurances from Network Rail that, despite its dilapidated appearance, the footbridge over the railway at Dalgety Bay was safe," she said.
"The use of de-icing salts over winter periods apparently being to blame for the issues I had raised with them.
“Whilst that was an important clarification, I wasn’t prepared to leave it at that and pressed Network Rail as to when work would be carried out on the bridge.
“I am pleased to say that I have now been provided with an update informing me that – within this financial year – the low level areas which have been subject to corrosion will be restored and that the anti-slip material will be renewed where appropriate."
Ms Ewing said that although the pledge was "welcome progress", she would continue to press for the entire bridge to be repainted.
She added: "It is, after all, in many ways a gateway to Dalgety Bay and should project a positive and welcoming image to visitors.”
