A young Dunfermline woman was grabbed by the neck and pinned against a wall by her partner.
The 16-year-old culprit, from the west of Scotland, cannot be named for legal reasons.
He appeared at Dunfermline Sheriff Court and admitted that on March 30 at Law Road, Dunfermline, he assaulted his partner by repeatedly seizing her by the neck and pinned her against a wall.
Depute fiscal Azrah Yousaf said the couple had been in a relationship for a year at the time of the incident.
The assailant later admitted to police: “I lifted her up by the throat against the wall.”
Defence solicitor Alexander Flett said, “It was a trivial argument initially. She had locked him in and he wanted to leave. He knows he shouldn’t have reacted the way he did.”
Sheriff Gordon Liddle imposed a structured deferred sentence which will be reviewed on October 25.
