IT'S been a fun-filled week of events for the Aberdour Festival – and it's not over yet.
With an array of events to keep the whole family entertained it is no surprise that the whole community has gotten behind the ten day event.
Helen Pearson, chairperson of the festival committee, told the Press: "We’ve had a brilliant first weekend, gala day went really well, and everyone enjoyed the sports day. The family ceilidh was mobbed which was really good, everyone had a brilliant time and really enjoyed the dancing.
"Sunday we had the market day and the Donkey Brae Run. We had over 400 runners in our Donkey Brae Run which was great and the village market was a great success with lots of people and lots of fun was had.
"During the time for the village market, there was the football match at the same time. It was Easter versus Wester and I think it was Easter who won in the end but everyone was involved. There was men’s matches and women's matches and there was a really good spirit within the community with everyone getting involved and having a good time together."
Other highlights for the festival so far has been the pet show, which saw cats dogs and even a rooster strut their stuff for the crowd, the gala parade and crowing of the Aberdour Festival Queen, Edie Riach, the King, Michaelis Diasakos and the rest of the royal party, Martha Diamond, Leah Marshall, Logan Reid and Calan Wilson.
Helen continued: "It’s been so well supported, everybody is turning out and joining in and saying they’ve had a great time so the support from the village has been amazing, and from wider afield as well."
Still to come for the festival is the much anticipated beach day and a night of live music on Saturday, August 5, which will mark the end of the event.
She added: "We’re having our beach day with our raft race and lots of fun down at the beach and then in the evening we’ve got Skipinnish, supported by The Coaltown Daisies, so that should be an amazing night."
