A SECTION of the A985 will be closed overnight to allow for resurfacing works to take place.
The stretch of road between the Longannet Roundabout and Cairneyhill Roundabout will be closed from 7.30pm to 6.30am on the nights of September 6 to 11.
This is to ensure the safety of both the workers and motorists while resurfacing works take place.
Tommy Deans, BEAR Scotland’s Southeast Network Manager, said: “These surfacing improvements will address and repair defects in the road surface such as potholes and cracks, creating safer and smoother journeys for motorists.
“It is essential for the safety of the workforce that we close the carriageway, however, we’ve scheduled the works during overnight hours to minimise any disruption.
“We thank motorists in advance for their patience while our teams carry out these improvements.”
During these closures, a diversion route will be in place via the A977, A907 and A994, adding an estimated 9.8 miles and 19 minutes to affected journeys.
Drivers are being encouraged to plan ahead by checking the Traffic Scotland website for up-to-date travel information and allowing extra time for their journey.
