A 32-year-old man travelled to Dunfermline and helped himself to £600 worth of booze and cigarettes at a local supermarket.
Constantin Danica got away with the haul but has now appeared at Dunfermline Sheriff Court, accompanied by a translator.
Danica, of Millcroft Road, Cumbernauld, admitted that on September 10 last year at Asda superstore, Halbeath Retail Park, he stole a quantity of alcohol and tobacco products.
Depute fiscal Azrah Yousaf told the court the stolen items were valued at £600 and there was no recovery.
The court was told that Danica received appeared on other matters at Hamilton Sheriff Court and the Dunfermline had been sent there for sentencing. However, the sheriff at Hamilton refused to deal with it and sent in back to Dunfermline.
Sheriff Francis Gill deferred sentenced again until October 11.
