FIFE Sport and Leisure Trust (FSLT) are in the running for the title of Learn to Swim Provider of the Year at the Scottish Swimming Annual Awards.
The awards have been running for six years and recognise the effort of providers in creating and delivering high-quality lessons, providing youngsters with essential life skills to keep safe in and around water.
And the FSLT are delighted to be in the running for one of the honours.
Lee Cunningham, Activities Manager at Fife Sports and Leisure Trust, said: “We're thrilled to be once again finalists for the Scottish Water Learn to Swim Service Provider of the Year Award.
"This recognition highlights our unwavering commitment to provide fun, safe, and inclusive swimming lessons across Fife."
The Fife trust is up against the East Renfrewshire Culture and Leisure and Sport Aberdeen with all three demonstrating a profound determination to create ‘Generation Swim’, the next generation of safe and competent swimmers.
Euan Lowe, CEO of Scottish Swimming said: “We’re very lucky in Scotland to have so many excellent local authorities, leisure trusts and aquatic providers working towards the common goal of teaching this vital life skill across the country.
“Not only that but we’re especially fortunate to see firsthand the brilliant work that those shortlisted have put in to deliver lessons at the highest level and ensure that children are becoming safer in the water. It’s going to be tough to pick a winner!”
The winner of the award will receive an exclusive poolside visit from the Learn to Swim programme ambassadors - Olympic, World and Commonwealth champion Duncan Scott and Paralympian and World champion Toni Shaw.
The annual awards ceremony will take place this Saturday, September 23, in the Radisson Blu Hotel in Glasgow.
