In preparation for the Winter Exhibition next month, Dunfermline Art Club have a launched a new award.
The George Aitken Award is to be presented to the artist of the most popular painting at the Winter Exhibition each year.
The public are invited to vote for their favourite painting during the exhibition from Friday, November 17, to Saturday, November 25, at the Kingsgate Centre Gallery. It is open each day from 10am until 4pm (closed Sunday).
George Aitken was a superb artist and a long-term member of the art club committee serving as president for five years.
Helen Rowbotham, of the art club, said: "He was a real gentlemen and excellent craftsman who encouraged and saw the potential in every member of the club.
"He is sadly missed by all who knew him, and this award is a fitting tribute to a wonderful man."
